Community Development Grants
Founded in 2004, CLAN is proud to be celebrating 20 years of advocacy and action for childhood NCD Communities around the world. Having demonstrated conclusively that a rights-based, multisectoral, community development approach to redressing inequities associated with childhood NCDs can drive sustainable change at a local, natioinal, regional, and global level, CLAN is now committed to doing more.
Since 2021, CLAN has been working collaboratively with. a broad range of international stakeholders on our boldest endeavor yet, coming together as the @MATES4Kids Community of Practice (CoP) on the WHO's Knowledge Action Portal (KAP), a diverse and passionate network if individuals and organisations have committed to reduce the preventable mortality associated with CAH by 30% by 2030 and contribute to Member States' efforts to achieve the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
We believe this bold goal is achievable if we focus collective actions on three key objectives:
- Improving access to essential medicines
- Strengthening CAH communities
- Scaling access to Newborn Screening
Quarterly @MATES4Kids CoP meetings and side events at key international events mean we are able to share successes, achievements, tools and resources, strengthening one another as we journey together on the road to 2030. The WHO KAP is proving a powerful platform for uniting and galvanising the @MATES4Kids CoP across the six WHO Regions of the world, and recurrent rounds of CLAN Community Development Grants are proving key to enabling grassroots partners to identify and implement practical solutions that benefit the international CAH Community. The @MATES4Kids CoP and CLAN Community Development Grants will support innovative grassroots action in 40 countries by 2030. We have set a bold goal, but together, we believe anything is possible.
