Round 8 Grant Oppurtunity
The @MATES4Kids (Maximising Access To Essential Supplies for Children) Movement and CLAN (Caring & Living As Neighbours) are proud to offer AUD $1,000 grants to support community development efforts that will:
- Improve access to CAH medicines
- Strengthen CAH (Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia) Communities and/or
- Scale Newborn Screening (NBS) Programs.
Why: CAH Communities in resource-poor settings experience inequitable and preventable morbidity and mortality. Improving access to essential medicines; strengthening CAH communities by addressing the Five Pillars of CLAN; and early diagnosis through NBS have been demonstrated to effectively reduce the preventable mortality associated with CAH. These grants aim to support community informed actions to address local priorities and needs.
When: Grant applications will open on 11 December 2025. and close on 27 February 2026. Successful applicants will be announced at CSW70 in March 2026. Proposed initiatives must commence by 1 April 2026 and be completed by 1 May 2027

Applicants must be registered @MATES4Kids Community of Practice (CoP) on the World Health Organization’s Knowledge Action Portal. Collaborative approaches are recommended. People living with CAH must be involved in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of any projects. It is recommended representatives from national Paediatric Endocrinology or Paediatric societies are included as mentors or partners in project proposals.
Where: Projects must focus on priorities of CAH Communities in countries that are classified as low-income, lower-middle-income, or upper-middle-income (as per the World Bank rankings). Projects based in high-income-countries will not be considered. See Appendix for list of eligible countries.
