Governance & Financing

"Leadership and governance in building a health system involve ensuring that strategic policy frameworks exist and are combined with effective oversight, coalition-building, regulation, attention to system design and accountability."

People living with CAH have a right to health and life. The goal is for people living with CAH and their families to be engaged and involved in leadership and governance processes that affect them. Each national CAH Community will ultimately have its own Executive and engage internationally with other CAH Communities.

Health financing "refers to the function of a health system concerned with the mobilization, accumulation and allocation of money to cover the health needs of the people, individually and collectively, in the health system… the purpose of health financing is to make funding available, as well as to set the right financial incentives to providers, to ensure that all individuals have access to effective public health and personal care"

Robust health financing means that we do not just raise the funds needed to provide services but also protect citizens from catastrophic health spends and impoverishment, and promote equitable access to quality care
