United Nations 68th Commission on the Status of Women
On 13 March 2024, CLAN and @MATES4Kids will have the opportunity to virtually present a parallel event at the Non-Governmental Organization Commission on the Status of Women Forum (NGO CSW68).
CLAN, @MATES4Kids, and representatives from Lehigh University will be presenting on the priority theme of 'Accelerating the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls by addressing poverty and strengthening institutions and financing with a gender perspective.' The presentation will focus on the importance of newborn screening and its impact on gender inequalities affecting young girls with non-communicable diseases in resource poor settings. .
The event will take place virtually on 13 March 2024 at 6:30 pm New York/EST (14 March 2024 at 9:30 am AEDT).

The NGO CSW is an organization that brings together global civil society groups to participate in the annual United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UN CSW) and advocate for gender equality. It is a coalition comprising of NGOs, civil society organizations, and individuals dedicated to advancing the rights and empowerment of women and girls.
How does NGO CSW68 differ from UN CSW68?
While NGO CSW runs parallel to UN CSW, it is a separate process with separate organizers. All events that are organized by NGOs are coordinated by the NGO Committee on the Status of Women
